EURO pallets have existed since 1961. The initiator was the Association of International Railways - from the French Union Internationale des chemins de fer, or UIC for short - under whose leadership some European railways signed a contract for exchange pallets. The Europallet is a means of transport with a storage and support floor for fork handling, adapted for stacking. Europallet weight 20 - 25kg, pallet capacity 1500kg, europallet size 1200x800x144 mm, loading area 0.96m2.
